The Bank of Lithuania issues Guidelines on Security Token Offering

The Bank of Lithuania has issued Guidelines on Security Token Offering (STO),  becoming one of the first market regulators in the world to do so.

The Guidelines focus on tokens classification, assess specific cases, and clarify applicable regulatory requirements.

Companies planning to use the STO method for issuing tokens qualified as transferable securities or other financial instruments are required to comply with EU and national legislation regulating capital-raising activities.
